Welcome to the Int./Senior Summer Racing Team Page

Program Overview:

Penn A.C., the past, present, and future home of many US National team members, provides ambitious collegiate and junior athletes with competitive programs that will take their rowing both on and off the water to the next level. Throughout the years, Penn A.C. has continued to develop its tradition of winning and looks to continue it every summer by complementing the successes of its elite and masters programs with seasonal programs for collegiate and junior rowers.

These programs allow athletes to become a part of Penn A.C.'s traditions as they row and train out of the boathouse for the entire summer and ultimately compete in the same Penn A.C. colors as those in the elite program. Under the supervision of hired coaches, athletes from around the country form a new team that will compete at all of the major summer regattas including Club Nationals, Schuylkill Navy Day, and Canadian Henley. Rowing on the historic Schuylkill, athletes will gain new insight into rowing as they enter a new training program that is both physically and technically intensive.

The success of Penn A.C.’s intermediate/senior program can be measured by its results. Last summer, the Penn A.C summer program experienced its usual success winning team point championships at the 2009 Independence Day Regatta Regatta and the 2009 USRowing Club Nationals. At Club Nationals, Penn A.C.’s senior/intermediate program won a total of eleven medals: four gold, three silver, and four bronze. Penn A.C. ended the summer in style, winning the men’s Championship eight at the 2009 Royal Canadian Henley Regatta.
